Cash In – On Something to Put Your Cash In
Whether we’re looking in it to pull out some money, or praying that money will miraculously appear inside of it, they’re always at our side – or back pocket (or purse) – for better or worse. It should come as no surprise, then, that they’re an awesome idea for a custom promotional product and branding opportunity for your business.
And consider this – before someone goes to spend money on something, what’s the last thing they see? Exactly – their wallet. And that’s why should you care! Wallets are seen, used and shown every single day. Why wouldn’t you want to utilize them as a marketing vehicle?
With that, we’ve got a few ideas for you to take a look at:
The Tyvek Wallet. Tyvek is a water-proof, tear-proof material that was developed by DuPont. It was originally intended to water-proof homes and make them more energy efficient, but for those of you who have been to a concert or club, you may also recognize Tyvek as the material in those “paper-like” bracelets that you get at the door. Our favorite new use of this material, however, is – duh – the wallet. Not only is it an awesome material to keep your cards and cash protected and dry, but the material allows us to customize them with just about any design you and/or our design team can dream up. The other great selling point? Their tremendous value. If you Google “tyvek wallet,” you’ll find them retailing for around $15 each, but the kicker? On an order of 1,000 units, your cost is less than $3 per unit. Do we even need to explain the value proposition on that one?
The Velcro Wallet. Popularized in the 70’s, Velcro wallets are still used by the younger demographic as well as those of us still clinging to our youth (letting go is hard sometimes). Like the Tyvek wallet, we’re fans of this product because they’re easily customizable and cost effective. With orders as few as 500 pieces, they can be customized to make your brand compete with styles you might find at your local surf shop at a sticker price of $15-20 – but at a cost of less than $3.
Aluminum Wallets. If you’re catering to a female demographic, these aluminum wallets are a proven vehicle for hitting your mark. Minimums for full-customization on this product are normally around 1,200 units, but we’ve been able to convince the factory to take smaller orders. Hey, they like us 🙂 As with most of the products we like to recommend, the way to make your customers use this is through finding creative ways to incorporate your branding into a work of art. Not sure how? No worries – that’s our area of expertise.
Here at SOBO, we understand that not everyone has the financial or human resources – heck, even the interest – to design products that differentiate their brand from the competition. And that’s why we’re different. We hate creating boring, uninspiring crap that ends up in the garbage or the Goodwill store.
