Cycle for Survival: Team Luke

By Dean Schwartz (SWAG Master): Cycle for Survival is the movement to beat rare cancers. In fact, about 50 percent of people with cancer have rare cancer. Rare cancers include brain, pancreatic, ovarian, stomach, all types of pediatric cancers, and many others. Even though they account for about half of all cancer diagnoses, research on many rare cancers is drastically underfunded.  This often leaves patients with limited or no treatment options.

Cycle for Survival events provides a tangible way to fight back. 100% of all money raised directly funds lifesaving rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. This type of direct funding has drastically reduced the time it takes for treatments to reach patients.  In some cases, this funding has cut the span from years to months. Cycle for Survival has directly contributed to over 100 clinical trials and research studies.

SOBO Concepts Supports Cycle for Survival

SOBO has joined the battle by supporting Team Luke NYC! At the age of 3, Luke was diagnosed with Stage IV Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, which is a very aggressive pediatric cancer. Luke has endured a long road of treatment. He has survived, persevered, and thrived. Luke and his family are now joining the fight to beat rare cancers with their Cycle for Survival team.
