3 Steps for Creating a Successful Trade Show Booth

tradeshow

By Dean Schwartz (SWAG Master): “Wow, that uninspiring, run-of-the-mill pop up booth really got my attention at that trade show,” said no one ever. Okay sure, it’s a joke, but the fact of the matter is, when it comes to preparing for a trade show, an uninspiring run-of-the-mill pop up booth is the far too common.

But ask yourself – if you were at a trade show, what would get your attention? Chances are, it wouldn’t be something that everyone else has. And for that reason, this week, we’re giving you our top three ways to make your trade show booth stand out from the competition:

  1. Get their attention – The first step is to make attendees stop in front of your booth. Grab their attention with a unique booth design that incorporates cool graphics, flooring and flattering lighting.
    • Lighting is Key: Most of the time, trade shows give all attendees the same unflattering light for their booths. But if you’ve invested great time and energy into your design, then basic lighting is almost like wasting your money. Use lighting to create focal points, dramatic effects and more. And watch the attention shift to you.
  2. Keep your message quick and simple – Show/tell them who you are and why they need your product or service. This needs to be done quickly and concisely through text, imagery, video, etc. If it takes them too long to figure out what you do, they’ve moved on to the next booth
  3. Give them something useful and/or memorable – As a SWAG supplier, you knew this was coming… But it’s so true. Now that you’ve caught their attention with your awesome booth design, the next step is to get them to remember you after the trade show is over. Think about giving them something that complements the message you’re trying to covey. Don’t worry if you can’t think of anything, we’ve got you covered.

Now that you know the key elements to a successful booth design, it’s time to start thinking about the actual booth layout. Depending upon the size of your booth, you should expect to spend between $4,000 to $8,000 for a 10′ x 10′ and $7,000 – $15,000 for a 10′ x 20′ booth. Below are some of our favorite layouts for you to check out.

Of course, these pointers and images are just the tip of the iceberg. If you’ve got an upcoming trade show and need help creating a booth that will add value and profits to your brand, call us today at 888.752.0432.
