Case Study: Snow Globes for Tourism Rossland

THE CHALLENGE

With such great skiing, mountain biking, and hiking available in the area, the town becomes crowded every winter like clockwork. But how can Tourism Rossland take advantage of their unique community and appeal to those browsing their shops? Enter: the snow globe.

• In their words, Rossland is “an unpretentious community which still offers a unique and authentic experience to all visitors.” We couldn’t agree more! But capturing the essence of this beautiful community within a single snow globe was difficult at first.
• Rossland is blessed with picturesque views and charming village shops. Somehow, we needed to bring all this into one tiny snow globe.

THE SOLUTION

Of course, we loved the challenge!

• We asked the folks at Rossland to send us pictures of some iconic views of their town.
• We then asked our designer to create a 3D rendering to be used inside their snow globe.
• We made sure to include the gorgeous landscape as well as key buildings from their village.

THE RESULT

• Ultimately, the renderings of a mini Rossland were brought to life inside a snowy glass ball. Now the locals or those just passing through have a keepsake to always remind them of the beautiful little town in British Columbia.
• The folks at Tourism Rossland ordered 500 for the retailers – but they were completely sold out in 2 days! A massive success.
