UV Water Bottle: The Bottle that Cleans Itself!

They’re affordable, obviously incredibly useful, provide a great imprint area for memorable branding, and are normally a welcomed addition to everybody’s cabinets. But from a “memorable” perspective? The recipients may remember your logo (if you use great designers like the ones we have at SOBO) but the chances are they won’t think twice about the actual product.

And we’ll be honest: it’s difficult to put a new spin on such a tried and true item. What is a UV Water Bottle and How Does it Work?

While some water bottles have a built in filter for things like dirt, a self-cleaning UV-powered water bottle uses technology to kill viruses, bacteria, and other waterborne microbes that can eventually make you sick. A light attached to the under side of the cap or bottom of the bottle will shine UV rays through the bottle, and these UV rays then destroy that harmful bacteria and other micro-organisms by attacking their DNA, effectively sterilizing the water and interior surface of the bottle. Simply shine the light and poof! You’ve got a clean water bottle.

Not only is the process that easy, but it’s also extremely effective: most UV bottles on the market kill upwards of 99.9% of disease-causing microbes. Know what that means? No more struggling with a sponge or using a filthy “bottle brush” and hoping that you’ve cleaned it thoroughly! You’ll know it’s clean – it’s science.

Better yet (and honestly this may be the most important aspect to a lot of people), the UV process leaves the water taste and odor-free. You’re not using any chemicals, so there won’t be any leftover soapy taste and no wear on the inside of the bottle; and in case that wasn’t good enough, the bottles are all made with the same feature we’ve all come to love from any name brand water bottle – they’ll keep your hot liquids hot and your cold liquids cold.
